GEM accelerates its international expansion and transforms the student experience in the age of AI
GEM is reaching a new milestone in its development with the opening of a campus in Dubai, the launch of a hub in London, and the broader rollout of its immersive learning model.
From the start of the 2026/27 academic year, GEM is scaling up and accelerating the transformation of its model around three key priorities: immersion, AI, and internationalization. With the expansion of its learning expedition model, the integration of AI at every stage of the student journey, and the deployment of new campuses and hubs abroad, the School reaffirms its ambition to train graduates who can understand global transformations and operate effectively in complex and uncertain environments.
From Grenoble and Paris to Dubai and London: GEM enters a new international dimension
GEM will open a campus in Dubai (Academic City) and launch a hub in London (Republic) as early as 2026, marking a major acceleration in its international expansion. These new locations are part of a strategy to position the School at the heart of key global economic and technological hubs.
Projects are also underway in China (late 2026) and Canada (2027), further strengthening GEM’s global presence.
Since 2024, GEM has established more than 50 new academic partnerships with leading institutions such as Stanford, Politecnico di Milano, Oxford and MIT. These collaborations enable the School to offer demanding international pathways that combine academic excellence, immersive learning, and direct access to job markets.
An immersive learning model deployed at scale
More than 1,200 students are now engaged in the learning expedition model. Since 2025, GEM has been rolling out this unique 60/20/20 approach at scale, combining oncampus learning, online formats, and field experiences for students in the Grande École Program and MSc degrees, in both Grenoble and Paris.
At the heart of this approach are real-world learning experiences developed in close collaboration with companies and local ecosystems.
More than 30 partner organizations contributed to the 2025–2026 initiatives, including Schneider Electric, HP, Ubisoft, POMA and SUEZ. The GIANT ecosystem—of which GEM is a founding member and the only business school— also provides a unique experimentation ground in Grenoble, designated European Capital of Innovation 2026. Students work on concrete challenges such as the transformation of mountain tourism models, sustainable water management, the future of work, and risk management. They also take part in flagship events such as Tech&Fest and Mountain Planet—key meeting points for innovation, industry, and research.
Artificial Intelligence as a new pedagogical standard
GEM integrates AI at every stage of the student journey, from orientation to career placement. AI is becoming a true learning lever , enabling students to interact with content, structure their knowledge, and progress more independently. Conversational assistants, generative AI, tools such as Microsoft Copilot, and enhanced learning platforms deployed across the School are transforming learning into a personalized, continuous, and interactive experience.
In this way, GEM trains students to use AI with discernment, while developing critical thinking, autonomy, and decision making skills.
Engagement, geopolitics and leadership: training managers to navigate a world under pressure
In a context of shifting geopolitical and economic dynamics, GEM is strengthening its positioning on issues elated to sovereignty, defense, and major transitions.
The School is the first business school to offer a Cycle Jeunes IHEDN (a leading national program) and has recently signed a partnership with the National Guard.
In 2025, in collaboration with IRIS, it also launched Géopolitiques de Grenoble , a national event open to the public, bringing together experts, policymakers, business leaders, and students. The first edition attracted more than 1,800 participants.
At the same time, GEM is developing flagship initiatives to promote leadership and equal opportunities, including the LIFT program in partnership with the International Women’s Forum, as well as initiatives with the Aspen Institute France through the “Femmes d’Aspen ” program. These initiatives enable female students to expand their networks, build confidence, and broaden their perspectives.
