What is an Advanced Master (MS)?

Created by the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE), the Advanced Master (MS) is a high-level qualification designed for graduates with a five-year higher education degree (Bac+5) or equivalent. It offers advanced specialization or dual expertise in a specific field to meet market needs. Only member schools of the CGE, such as Grenoble Ecole de Management (see GEM’s list of accreditations), can award this label, guaranteeing the quality and recognition of the program. This program leads to a diploma accredited by the CGE at the Bac+6 level and is highly valued by employers for its professional focus.

The Advanced Master program is aimed at both recent graduates and professionals in career transition who wish to acquire in-depth expertise in a specific sector. The program lasts between 12 and 24 months, combining academic courses with professional immersion. It is equivalent to 75 ECTS credits and includes at least four months of in-company experience, along with the writing and defense of a professional thesis. At GEM, all Advanced Masters are offered as part of a work-study program.
