Arusyak Zakaryan is Assistant Professor of Strategy at Grenoble Ecole de Management, Grenoble, France. She received a joint PhD degree in Management Science (2019) from SKEMA Business School, Sophia Antipolis and University of Cote d’Azur, France. Prior to this she completed a Master in Research in Management Science at SKEMA Business School. During her doctoral studies she was a visiting scholar at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. Her PhD thesis was shortlisted for Grigor McClelland Doctoral Dissertation Award 2020. Her research interests broadly cover strategy, innovation and organizational studies. The first stream of her work investigates organizational learning from failures, successes and near-misses. A second line of research focuses on the management of innovation and technology with particular emphasis on knowledge networks, search and invention termination. More recently, she has started exloring the gender perspective in innovation. She tried to understand, in particular, the implications of gender for invention termination and direction of innovations. Empirically, She investigates primarly biopharmaceutical industry as well as some other knowledge and innovation intensive sectors. She uses mainly quantitative methods. Her research has been published in journals such as Industrial and Corporate Change, Technovation, Technological Forecasing and Social Change.
