    When Loneliness Increases Self-gifting: The Moderation of Attachment Style

    Given the rise of loneliness, we investigate the impact of loneliness on self-gifting. Drawing upon theoretical connections of loneliness and interpersonal attachment style, we demonstrate that lonely consumers are more likely to self-gift for reward and therapy. Secure vs. insecure attached individuals are more influenced by loneliness in their self-gifting.

    How to prevent the health halo effect of organic foods? The influence of a FOP nutritional labeling-system

    The main motivation to buy organic food is its health impact. However, several scholars mentioned a “health halo effect” of organic food: consumers extend their positive judgment to other unrelated attributes, such as nutritional quality. An online experiment with 353 consumers replicates the organic health halo effect in the French context. Furthermore, it shows that a front-of-packaging simplified nutritional system, such as the Nutri-score, could be an effective way to minimize this bias. La principale motivation à l’achat de produits alimentaires issus de l’agriculture biologique est son influence sur la santé. Toutefois, plusieurs recherches ont démontré un « effet de halo santé » du bio : le jugement positif associé notamment à l’absence d’intrants chimiques s’étendrait à d’autres attributs du produit, comme ses qualités nutritionnelles. Via une étude expérimentale online auprès de 353 individus, cette recherche confirme cet effet de halo santé dans un contexte français. Par ailleurs, elle montre dans quelle mesure un système d’étiquetage nutritionnel simplifié comme le Nutri-score peut le minimiser.
