Gender equality

Gender equality at Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) is one of the school's strategic priorities: with its students, during their studies, but also so that they can become leaders in their field. We work alongside our employees to ensure that everyone can play an active role in building and ensuring respect for equality at GEM, but also with as many people as possible, disseminating the results of the School's work, raising awareness and mobilizing citizens and decision-makers alike.

Prevent sexual and gender-based violence : measures deployed at GEM

GEM's anti-SGB programs are a direct result of the school's fight against gender inequality. As a driving force on these issues, GEM :

  • Signed a partnership agreement with the Grenoble public prosecutor's office, the Direction
Départementale de la Sécurité Publique (DDSP), and the Association France Victimes 38. This agreement establishes a secure legal framework for handling reports of SSV suffered by students.
  • Created a cell to prevent sexual and gender-based violence for GEM students. This cell has enabled the launch of the VSS reporting platform.
  • Since March 2020, GEM has been offering its students "Care Line GEM for me": a psychological support hotline in 14 languages and medical teleconsultation services in 5 languages (free and confidential 24/7).
  • Every year, trains and raises awareness among its students about SSV issues, particularly at the start of the school year, but also through courses on behaviour in the workplace and psychosocial risks.
  • Every year, we offer exhibitions, workshops and reflections on the subject on the occasion of Women's Rights Day, as in 2021, 2020 and 2019, for example.

GEM is one of the first grandes écoles in France to have made gender equality an essential part of its students' education. Each year, GEM publishes a sexism barometer , a genuine tool for combating this kind of violence.

To introduce compulsory training for all students on these issues and their legal consequences. In order to be able to act swiftly in the workplace, GEM systematically and compulsorily trains work-study students in "legal issues".

Inclusive Management" to enable them to understand the foundations of gender inequalities in the economy and learn how to combat them.

Committed to its mission of producing and disseminating scientific knowledge, GEM seeks to understand the causes and symptoms of sexism in the economy, notably through its Women and Economic Renewal Chair, which brings together nearly 30 affiliated professors, share the results of their studies in the press and with the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, thereby contributing to public debate.

In line with this, GEM promotes gender equality in society by enabling young people to become involved in economic life. Like the GEM incubator the Premi1ères on the Grenoble campus, dedicated to women wishing to set up an innovative business, the Tech For Life Hub on the Paris campus, focusing on Deep-Tech startups, and the partnership with Femmes Chefs d'Entreprises, aimed at showcase the lives of female managers and encourage vocations. Internationally, GEM also broadcasts a Mooc and the podcast "she impacts" in English to promote the place of women in the economy and the crucial role they play in society.

Fully mobilized alongside its employees, GEM is committed to fighting gender inequality internally.
