In 1982 Abdelkrim Belkheiri graduated first in his class in English and American Studies from the University of Annaba, Algeria. He was duly awarded a scholarship to do postgraduate study at the University of Exeter, England. In 1983 he successfully passed his MA courses in American Studies and completed a 20,000 word dissertation on the American Presidency. Four years later he was awarded the degree of Ph.D. in American studies. His External Examiner was Professor Fred Halliday of the London School of Economics. Abdelkrim Belkheiri is currently professor at GEM, Head of Department (MLFC) Trilingual Porgram Coordinator, and Academic Advisor for Great Britain, Ireland, and India. He has considerable teaching experience (25 years) having taught courses and supervised students at the masters and doctoral levels. His research interests include American history and culture, American foreign policy, and the Middle East. Courses taught: American Civilization, Contemporary International Issues, Cultural Exceptionalism and Globalization: The Case of the Middle East, and Geopolitics.
