The Bachelor in Management at GEM is designed to gradually develop the key skills of tomorrow’s managers. Each year combines core academic courses, hands-on projects, and immersive experiences in companies or abroad. Through an immersive, interactive, and career-focused teaching approach (masterclasses, company visits, project-based learning, internships, work-study programs, etc.), students gain a comprehensive understanding of management and strengthen their ability to thrive in complex environments.

Throughout the Bachelor in Management program, students learn by doing through a dynamic, action-oriented, and collaborative teaching approach. Classes are complemented by substantial individual and team work, including group projects, case studies, simulations, presentations, and assignments supervised by professionals.

The program encourages initiative, critical thinking, and the ability to work effectively in diverse team settings. Each year, students participate in masterclasses, challenges, and real business projects, as well as applied research modules that develop analytical rigor and a deep understanding of economic and managerial issues.

This hands-on approach prepares Bachelor in Management students to adapt quickly to professional expectations and to progressively build their career plan or continue their studies if they wish.

The Bachelor in Management courses are taught by GEM’s faculty, consisting of professors, researchers, and experienced professionals. This combination of academic expertise and practical experience ensures learning that is both rigorous and hands-on, grounded in the realities of today’s and tomorrow’s business world.

Many industry professionals also contribute to the program through projects, lectures, and masterclasses, allowing students to consistently connect theoretical knowledge with current management practices.

All instructors share a teaching approach based on knowledge transfer, practical experience, and close interaction with students.

The skills acquired throughout the Bachelor in Management are assessed continuously through a combination of individual assignments, group projects, case studies, presentations, simulations, and written exams. Midterm exams further track students’ progress and mastery of knowledge throughout the semesters.

The final assessment takes into account the chosen specialization as well as the professional experiences completed during the Bachelor, which serve as key learning opportunities and promote autonomy.

In the event of partial certification, the competency blocks that have been successfully completed are permanently validated and result in an official certificate, ensuring recognition of the skills acquired.

The Bachelor in Management develops versatile profiles, capable of taking initiative and adapting to diverse environments. Upon graduation, students can continue their studies in the Grande École Program, pursue an MSc, or directly enter the workplace in key roles in management, marketing, or business development.

What you need to know to join our Bachelor in Management

Open to a variety of profiles and backgrounds, students can join GEM’s Bachelor in Management:

• Through Parcoursup for admission to the 1st year
• Via direct admission into the 2nd or 3rd year

Depending on your profile, goals, and study pace (traditional, work-study, or high-level sports), several pathways are available.

These entrance exams for the Bachelor in Management at GEM are the same for all admission pathways.

• Motivation Interview (20 min): presentation of academic background, interests, and study plan.
• English Oral Exam (20 min):
  • Listening and speaking skills, text commentary (10 min) + free discussion (10 min)
  • Candidates prepare two texts in advance from a corpus provided by GEM (sent upon eligibility). On the day of the exam, the examiner selects one of the two texts for the interview.
• English Oral Exam for High-Level Athletes (60 min): online test
• Format: in person or remote, depending on the candidate’s profile and session.

Scholarships

• Eligible for state scholarships (CROUS – in French)  at the Grenoble and Paris campuses, subject to conditions (for more information, contact your academic advisor).

Various financing solutions are offered to support students entering the Bachelor in Management program at GEM. Students may be eligible for scholarships, merit-based awards, or favorable banking options. The school provides personalized guidance to help each student find the most suitable solution. All of these options are centralized on our dedicated platform.

The degree title DipViGrL – Diplôme supérieur en développement digital et commercial (Advanced Degree in Digital and Business Development) and its core skills modules are also accessible through the VAE (Validation des Acquis de l’Expérience / Recognition of Prior Learning) and can be financed under the conditions provided by the CPF (Compte Personnel de Formation / Personal Training Account).

Second-year students in the Bachelor in Management can choose to participate in an exchange within a program offered by GEM. Focused on innovation and entrepreneurship in a digital context, this international experience is delivered entirely in English at a partner university.

Internships are true learning opportunities, allowing students to explore different careers, confirm their professional interests, and develop skills through hands-on experience. They are an essential step in building your career plan.

Internships are mandatory in 1st and 2nd year:

• 1st year: 2–4 month internship in France or abroad, for a first immersion in the professional world.
• 2nd year: 2–4 month internship in France or abroad, to deepen skills and refine your career plan.

As a pioneer among leading business schools and a committed institution, GEM views work-study programs as a powerful lever for professionalization and employability. Within the Bachelor in Management, the work-study format is mandatory in Year 3, on the Grenoble or Paris campus, following a 1-week at school / 3-weeks in the company schedule. This format offers an extended, hands-on experience in the professional world, directly linked to the chosen specialization.

Note: French law requires that non-European international students reside in France for over a year to sign a work-study contract and be eligible for the 3rd-year work-study program.
