The Center for International Affairs will then contact the nominated student(s) directly with an enrolment link to access our platform and start the application process.

Deadlines for registration

Be sure to check the deadlines for registration, as they may vary depending on the period you are applying for. Missing the deadlines may affect your eligibility for the exchange program. The Nomination and Application deadlines share the same dates. The sooner a student is nominated the sooner their application will be processed.

Deadlines for registration:

  • Fall semester/full year : April 1st to May 1st
  • Spring semester : September 1st to October 1st

Application process

Once nominated, students are provided with detailed instructions on how to complete their application : Students will open an online account with their official family and given names. One program only needs to be selected to participate on an exchange program. A list of requested documents needs to submitted on the online account according to the program of their choice.

Outgoing Students

Be ready to dive into a world of new opportunities! As an exchange student, you are about to discover new cultures, broaden your international perspective, expand your network, make new friends, and create unforgettable memories!

Applying for an Academic Exchange

You can apply for an international exchange as early as your first semester at GEM, for either the second semester of your arrival year or the following year (depending on the program). For most international exchanges, a language test is required (TOEFL iBT, IELTS Academic, DELE, etc.). Be sure to prepare in advance to certify your level during the selection process. Information sessions are organized at the beginning of the academic year to present our offerings based on your program at GEM.

Choosing Your Host Institution

As a GEM student, you have the opportunity to study abroad for one semester or a full year in one of our programs (academic exchange or Global Track). We have partnerships with nearly 200 universities worldwide and continue to actively expand this network. Since GEM is triple-accredited, we seek out the best universities for our international programs. 77% of our partners are accredited by AACSB, AMBA, or EQUIS.

Tuition Fees

International mobility is an integral part of your curriculum at GEM, and in most cases, there are no additional tuition fees to be paid to GEM. However, you must consider the cost of living in the host country, as well as all additional expenses that are the student's responsibility (insurance, housing, transportation, administrative fees at the host university, etc.).

Note: Some Double Degree exchange programs are fee-based, as are the "Global Track" study semesters. These costs are in addition to GEM’s tuition fees.

Scholarships

Financial assistance is available for all GEM students participating in an international exchange, thanks to our partners, Erasmus+, and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region with the Regional Scholarship for International Student Mobility (BRMIE).

Once You Are Selected

Our team at the International Affairs Center will assist you with the necessary steps: selection, registration with the partner university, mobility scholarship, course selection, etc.
