Mohamed Hilali, MBA 2022 Graduate

Senior Consultant, Capgemini Invent

What is transformation in your field, and why is it important?

"In strategy and customer transformation, transformation means making big, strategic changes to improve how organizations work, adapt to market changes, and provide better customer experiences. It's not just about small tweaks; it's about completely rethinking and redesigning business models, processes, and customer interactions.

Transformation is important because it helps organizations stay competitive in a fast-changing market. With new technologies, changing consumer behaviors, and more competition, businesses need to keep innovating and adapting. Transformation helps them realign goals, use new technologies, streamline operations, and create more value for customers. This leads to sustainable growth, resilience, and new opportunities."

How has the MBA changed you as a manager and as a person?

"Completing an MBA has had a big impact on me both professionally and personally. As a Senior Consultant, it has given me a deep understanding of different business functions and how they connect. It has improved my strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. I now tackle challenges with a broader perspective, considering the wider impact on the organization and its stakeholders.

Doing my MBA during the COVID-19 pandemic added extra challenges and learning opportunities. Adapting to remote learning and virtual collaboration during this time has made me more resilient and adaptable. Balancing academic and professional responsibilities during the pandemic has improved my crisis management skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.

The pandemic highlighted the importance of digital transformation and agile strategies. It showed me how crucial technology is for business continuity and being prepared for unexpected disruptions. This experience has shaped my approach to strategy and customer transformation, emphasizing flexibility and innovation.

On a personal level, the MBA journey has been transformative. It has given me a growth mindset and a love for continuous learning. I've learned to appreciate diverse perspectives and the importance of collaboration and teamwork, especially in a virtual setting. The program has strengthened my resilience and adaptability, helping me navigate complex situations with confidence.

Overall, the MBA has advanced my career and enriched my personal development. It has made me a more effective consultant, capable of guiding organizations through both stable and challenging times, and a well-rounded individual."
