Press Release, December 9, 2024 - Grenoble Ecole de Management strongly condemns all acts of racism

During recent events organized by students of Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM), racist acts were reported to the school’s administration. Grenoble Ecole de Management unequivocally condemns all forms of racism, discrimination, or violence, regardless of the individuals or circumstances involved. Such behavior is fundamentally incompatible with the core values of our institution, which are built on respect, kindness, diversity, and inclusion.

These unacceptable acts, which occurred in recent days, cannot be tolerated by the school and are currently under a thorough internal investigation to establish the exact circumstances and responsibilities. As soon as these incidents were reported, the students involved were summoned and are currently undergoing disciplinary procedures. Sanctions have already been imposed as of Monday, December 9, in response to the gravity of the incidents. Furthermore, the school has reported the matter to Grenoble’s Public Prosecutor.

As an institution committed to promoting inclusion and diversity, GEM, within the framework of its status as a B-Corp company and through its Health and Inclusion Service, regularly conducts awareness-raising activities with its students. Starting in 2025, these measures to combat racist acts will be strengthened, and a dedicated support and listening service will be established for students affected by such incidents.

“We work every day to ensure that GEM is a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected, regardless of their origin, culture, or beliefs. These acts, although they occurred outside the school’s framework, are entirely contrary to the spirit and DNA of our institution. We condemn them in the strongest possible terms and are taking all necessary steps to ensure they do not happen again” said Fouziya Bouzerda, General Director of GEM.
