"As I reflect on my DBA journey, I am struck by the collaborative nature of scholarly inquiry and the invaluable insights gained through dialogue and exchange with industry professionals. The opportunity to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in the field of business administration, particularly within the realm of talent management in Big Data Analytics (BDA), and the unique and pleasing experience to have worked and collaborated with such wonderful faculty and colleagues from Grenoble Ecole de Management has been immensely rewarding.

My research delves into a critical yet often overlooked aspect: the intricate challenges of talent management within the domain of BDA. While many studies focus on mainstream topics, my investigation aims to shed light on the multifaceted hurdles faced by managers in attracting, nurturing, and retaining highly skilled analytical talent within the dynamic landscape of BDA.

Motivated by the transformative potential of BDA technologies in reshaping organizational strategies and decision-making processes, my study endeavors to explore the nuanced intricacies of talent management within this burgeoning field. Drawing upon in-depth interviews with 20 industry professionals in the Los Angeles area, I employed the Gioia methodology to glean insights into the challenges encountered across four pivotal pillars: Hiring, Training, Retention, and Turnover.

The findings of this research illuminate the complex tapestry of talent management in BDA, highlighting the interconnectedness of its various components. Notably, the scarcity of skilled analytical human resources emerges as a pressing concern, with participants underscoring the acute challenge of filling open positions with qualified candidates. Moreover, the high turnover rates among tech professionals, attributed to the rapid pace of technological evolution within the BDA landscape, underscore the imperative for innovative retention strategies.

As organizations, vie to secure and retain top talent in the fiercely competitive arena of BDA, the study underscores the necessity for customized training initiatives tailored to organizational needs. Participant narratives underscore the importance of continuous upskilling and adaptation to evolving technologies, with innovative approaches such as self-built teaching and training systems emerging as viable solutions to bridge skill gaps and cultivate a robust talent pipeline.

The practical implications of this research extend beyond theoretical discourse, offering actionable insights for business practitioners and analytical human resource recruiters alike. By elucidating the intricate dynamics of talent management in BDA, this study equips organizations with a strategic blueprint for navigating the challenges and opportunities inherent in harnessing the transformative potential of big data analytics.

In essence, my doctoral research endeavors to contribute to the evolving discourse on talent management in the context of BDA, urging organizations to adopt a holistic approach that encompasses hiring, training, retention, and turnover strategies. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, businesses can effectively harness the power of analytics to drive innovation, enhance competitiveness, and propel sustainable growth in the digital age.

My research has underscored the intricate challenges faced by managers in navigating the pillars of talent management within the dynamic landscape of BDA. From the initial stages of recruitment and hiring to the ongoing processes of training and retention, each facet of talent management plays a pivotal role in driving organizational success in the digital age.

Looking forward, I am energized by the potential for further research and exploration within this evolving field. Armed with a deepened understanding of talent management dynamics and armed with empirical findings gleaned from my study, I am poised to continue making meaningful contributions to the advancement of business administration practices.

In conclusion, my DBA journey has been a journey of discovery, growth, and contribution. It has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and insights necessary to address the pressing challenges facing organizations in the digital era. With a steadfast commitment to excellence and a passion for driving positive change, I eagerly anticipate the continued pursuit of scholarly inquiry and the opportunity to shape the future of talent management in Big Data Analytics."
