I am an associate professor at GEM, where I joined the Management, Technologies and Strategy Department in December 2020.
I have a PhD in Business Administration and an LL.M.(WU) in Business Law from WU Vienna University of Business and Economics (Austria) as well as a postdoctoral qualification (Habilitation) from Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria). Before joining academia in 2014, I gained practical experience in financial reporting and corporate law working for a major Austrian utility and a renowned Viennese law firm. In my research, I employ my interdisciplinary expertise. The focus of my research is on topics at the intersection of entrepreneurship, regional development and innovation, such as entrepreneurial finance, technology entrepreneurship, social and migrant entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship education. The results of my work have been published both in scholarly journals such as Journal of Corporate Finance, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, and in transfer publications such as the European Central Bank Working Paper Series. My research has attracted funding from institutions such as the EU and the Swedish Kamprad Family Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Research & Charity as well as private enterprises.
I am an editorial board member of Technological Forecasting and Social Change as well as Review of Managerial Science. In the last five years, I was visiting research fellow at Aalto University (Finland), Cranfield University (UK), and the University of Lund (Sweden). I currently hold a visiting professor appointment at Johannes Kepler University Linz (Austria).
