Students from Grenoble Ecole de Management successfully competed in the Global Scaling Challenge, organized for the second time by the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico in the United States. Bringing together students from universities around the world and their mentors, this competition aims to confront the teams with real-life practical cases, with challenges and problems from companies in various sectors and environments.
Students from the MSc MIB (Master in International Business) program at Grenoble Ecole de Management won the silver medal for the 2022 edition, thanks to their proposals for comprehensive and innovative growth strategies, encompassing economic, social and environmental impacts, for start-ups in the aerospace sector.
Like the "Shark Tank" and the "Dragons' Den", a demanding jury composed of venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and researchers judged the proposals of the participating teams. Michele Coletti represented Grenoble Ecole de Management as a member of the jury.

How did the competition work?
Participating teams were asked to develop growth strategies for three real-world aerospace business cases: the first involved artificial intelligence-controlled communications, the second space weather, and the third additive manufacturing of hazardous radiation shields.
Students had less than a week to develop unique sales, market entry, growth and financing strategies and highlight them in a compelling presentation to the jury.
The Global Scaling Challenge is part of current research on social innovation through the teaching of GEM professors Daniela Maresch, Michele Coletti and Matthias Fink. It is also closely linked to the initiative that promotes excellence in online education, led by Professor Gordon Ray.
