2020–2021 Academic Year: an innovative hybrid system following the traditional schedule

Our Objective: to offer a complete and consistent year with a gradual return to 100% face-to-face in order to not only counteract the uncertainties linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, but also to preserve the quality of our program delivery and course objectives. With that in mind, Grenoble Ecole de Management will start the academic year on the dates initially planned

Two words: flexibility and security

To meet this double objective - welcoming all international and French students in the best conditions and guaranteeing the health and safety of our students, we have imagined an innovative hybrid system including a mix of face-to-face and distance learning, organized in flexible 2-month phases. "By respecting the timetable for the start of the new school year and by announcing fixed dates, we can guarantee our students that they will be able to follow the entire program they have enrolled in. The courses will be organized in phases. This agile and flexible system will allow us to easily switch back to face-to-face classes if conditions allow it or to hybrid teaching methods according to the health rules in force," explains Jean-François Fiorina, Vice Dean of GEM.

3 pedagogical phases of 2 months

Each phase will include educational modules and activities validated by continuous monitoring and assessment. Students will be provided an online learning preparation module.

“These methods are intended to allow all students to settle without constraint in the city of their campus until the end of at least October for a full-time presence in the buildings no later than the 1st November,” explains Jean-François Fiorina.

Maintaining the quality of our programs and course objectives while adapting to the global crisis

"Students have chosen GEM for its reputation, program objectives, and acquisition of knowledge and skills. We are committed to guaranteeing and maintaining the quality of education for which we are known,” concludes Jean-François Fiorina

GEM is also evolving its program content to explore the effects of Covid-19 in categories such as:

  • Management (teleworking and digitalization of jobs),
  • Strategy (risk management, supply chains, consumer behavior, etc.),
  • New Business Sectors (health and crisis management).
