Come to test the TIM Lab, a new collaborative innovation lab with a design-thinking focus

Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) and Korus joined forces for an 18-month collaboration aimed at creating the TIM Lab (Technology Innovation Management Lab), a prototype training lab dedicated to innovation management and technology focused around collective intelligence. Hosted by GEM Labs (GEM's experimental lab), TIM Lab will open its doors to the ecosystems of both institutions.

"Every step in design thinking* will be scripted and identifiable according to functional areas within the lab (to explore different fields, to define needs, to generate ideas, prototypes…). The lab will be flexible in terms of needs, research topics, and group work. We wish the experience to be as immersive as possible to allow learners to concretize their ideas, and to apprehend tangibly the best way to conduct innovative projects integrating new technologies" explains Delphine Gatti-Urweiller, Director of Innovation Programs at GEM.

A Modular Space Depending On User Feedback 

KORUS and GEM combined their respective knowledge to experiment with the layout of the collaborative lab and its impact on users, on the mechanism of collective intelligence, and on both individual and collective behavior and learning process.

Following the example of GEM's connected shop, the TIM Lab prototype will provide the opportunity for GEM to experiment with new educational methods in the field of experiential learning and also to test new innovation models. It will also be a playing field for new academic research.

Open to the ecosystems of both institutions (students, faculty members, businesses, higher-education institutions, associations, etc.), TIM Lab will welcome its first testers during Spring 2019. It is destined to evolve as often as needed depending on user feedback.

* Design Thinking is a position/ discipline which uses designers' sensibilities, tools and methods to allow for interdisciplinary teams to innovate by correlating needs of users, technological feasibility and economic viability.
