Reading time : 0 min

In today's competitive world, the search for future leaders and innovators is more crucial than ever for a school like Grenoble Ecole de Management, which seeks to train the best students who will be the professionals of tomorrow. GEM's entrance juries, made up of a chairman and members, are at the heart of this selective process and offer a unique opportunity to professionals: the chance to become a jury member. This role, much more than a simple evaluation, is an invitation to play an active part in building a community of quality learners.

Let's dive into the captivating world of GEM juries and discover how you can help shape the destiny of tomorrow's talent.

The entrance exam for the Grande Ecole programme, a gateway to excellence

At the beginning of the 2024 academic year, future students of GEM's core programme will discover a completely revamped course, 40 years after its creation in 1984. While retaining the strengths for which it is renowned, the new programme will also feature a number of new features, including an ambitious editorial line "Management, technologies and sustainable innovations" at all levels, marking an assertive return to the School's original DNA in the light of the challenges of the 21st century.

With these challenges in mind, the new PGE will aim to recruit and train enlightened managers who are good citizens and capable of supporting change and disruption.

Orals, a key stage in the path of candidates

After a 1st selection (written competition or on the application form), successful candidates take part in oral examinations:

  • a motivational interview,
  • one or more language orals.

Each year, GEM calls on its economic and institutional partners, as well as its graduates, to come and assess the candidates for the entrance exam. This event anchors our school's presence in its ecosystem. It provides an opportunity for numerous exchanges with students, jury members and teaching staff.

Why become a jury member?

Participating in the juries is a unique opportunity to :

  • Meet the next generation: discover fresh, innovative ideas presented by the new generation of students who will be making the world of tomorrow.
  • Share your expertise: contribute to the evaluation of students by putting forward your experience and your vision of the professional world.
  • Expand your network: meet brilliant and diverse professionals, broaden your horizons and make lasting connections.

How can I become a Jury Member?

The key word for taking part in exam boards is authenticity: you mustn't play a role. As company employees, we are legitimate, whatever our level of study or diploma. Our experience and the way we look at things at interview time come first.  Sylvie Pecheur, 2023 jury member.

More specifically, we're looking for French speaking volunteers with a variety of backgrounds to complement our 360° view of our students.

You can be a member if :

  • You are an executive, manager, project or team leader, employee, company director or self-employed person,
  • You have at least 3 years' professional experience, or have been retired for less than 2 years,
  • You have a classic or atypical career path,
  • You are an active listener, respectful, impartial and caring,
  • You want to get involved in the life of the school.

Fluent French is needed to be a jury member since all interactions are in French. Find extensive practical information and subscription on the French jury webpage.
