Part of the Division of Careers, Alumni and Relations with Employers (CARE), the Office of Alumni Relations is tasked with creating a sense of belonging among students and alumni, and with expanding, professionalizing and internationalizing the network by creating opportunities for meetings among alumni worldwide. We are seeking a Communications Coordinator in order to expand and facilitate alumni communities abroad.
You will ensure the dynamic activity of international communities by leading volunteer ambassadors at the local level (region, country...) and ambassadors of alumni clubs and graduating classes. You will recruit, train and guide the volunteer ambassadors. You will support the volunteer ambassadors in their mission as ambassadors, ensure the communications of events proposed by these ambassadors to the school's network through all means available, and facilitate the social network pages associated with these clubs.
You will provide English-language content for social networks and the alumni website with a "critical" eye, including French-English translations. You will be a "project manager" overseeing the set-up of new projects (and events) within your remit.
You will also act as a liaison between English-speaking students and international alumni and may contribute to the set-up of student projects involving alumni.
You hold a 4- or 5-year university degree in communications and have 3-4 years of professional experience in communications, social network management or events management. Previous experience in a similar role at a university or school of similar ranking, preferably an English-speaking one, is required.
A native English speaker who is bilingual (English/French), you have excellent writing skills in both languages and some translation experience. You know how to identify relevant methods of communication according to the information and the targeted audiences.
You have practical knowledge of social networks and online communities and a strong ability to engage actors across different sectors (volunteers, companies) and to create partnerships.
You are comfortable using office software and CRM software. Knowledge of Drupal would be a plus.
You enjoy working with people and are a super-connector.
The role will involve frequent foreign travel and may sometimes require working in the evenings and over weekends.
The start date is September 2016.
Work schedule: 5 days per week
Salary: according to individual profile
