Target Audience:

This two part interactive seminar will benefit people in managerial positions within international organizations, especially those dealing with distance management and multi-site teams.

Objectives:

Whether part of an SME or a larger organization, managers today must have the proper cross-cultural skills to be able to grasp the significance of cultural differences in order to skillfully lead multicultural teams and handle sensitive situations in an international environment.

 
To respond to these challenges, Grenoble Ecole de Management has built a 4 day program directed at developing your set of skills to:
 

  • Provide the basics to improve cross-cultural communication and management,
  • Fully understand the difficulties of international teams, 
  • Learn how to handle difficult situations in an international environment both in transversal and hierarchical management structures.

Biography of the trainer: Olivier Aba
 

 
  • Olivier has over 20 years experience working in management positions in international companies.
  • He has led negotiations, management and execution of major restructuring programs in multi-cultural environments (HP and Ericsson) and concluded partnerships with clients such as Nokia, Bosch, Italtel, Nortel, Fujitsu… 
  • Olivier has developed  training programs which he has delivered to many different nationalities of people working in a variety of functions worldwide; Sales, Marketing, R&D, Customer Services, HR, IT/IS, Purchasing, Supply Chain.
  • Today Olivier teaches on MBA programs worldwide, consults for international companies and also is highly involved in corporate training.
  • He has lived and worked in France, USA, Madagascar and Switzerland 

  •  Biography of the trainer: Michelle Mielly
     

     
  • Over 15 years' experience in private-sector training as well as instructing in higher education (US, Europe, Central America, Africa)
  • Work and managerial experience in both industrial and hospitality-tourism sectors
  • Consultancy services for European-North American cultural differences, experience applied to multicultural working groups' integration
  • Experience in consulting firms as they steer through mergers/acquisitions, as they work towards better intercultural communication in mixed multinational teams,
  • Focus on intercultual negotiation skills and preparation for cultural adaptation aimed at expatriates.
  • References include CNRS, Boston University, Harvard University, Schneider Electric, MGE-UPS, American Power Conversion, ARKEMA, Diorem, Institut d'Etudes Polytechniques de Grenoble, and Universite Pierre Mendes-France
  • Has lived and worked in various parts of US as well as in France, Costa Rica, and Ivory Coast West Africa
  • Ph.D. Harvard University, Master's of Arts from Pennsylvania State University

    Program Fees

     
    € 1800 HT per participant for the 2 modules: The fee includes all tuition, educational materials and coffee breaks. (With a training convention signed by your company, the training program is exempt from tax and so the HT price becomes the net price).
     
    Lunches are not included in the fees, if you wish to accompany the group for lunch, please register for this.
    Lunch costs € 25 and will be next to the school at the Novotel, Europole.
