To develop applied research, 5 institutes have been created. The objective of these institutes is to answer appropriately to the needs of businesses by dissemination and valuing knowledge and know-how.

In parallel to the institutes, the Centre TIME, a multi-business chair for the study of the impact of Technologies and Innovation on the Management of Businesses was created in 1994.
