Technology and innovation Management
To develop a basic knowledge of the management of technology and the process of technological innovation, specifically from the view point of general management. The student must understand the importance of the strategic value and the impact of technology and innovation on the organisation’s competitiveness and the importance of formal and structured management within the framework of the technology and innovation strategy. The student must understand the concept of the dynamics of technological change and how this affects the formulation of the technology and innovation strategy.
Operations Management
This course addresses the key elements that forge the effective management of an organization’s limited resources. It aims at providing a comprehensive view of the most central aspects of production and operation management, and presenting an overview of the central managerial methods that are used by today’s complex enterprises in solving their difficult and intrinsic operational problems.
Operations management concerns all types of organizations; manufacturers of products or service providers, public or private sector companies, and profit or non-profit organizations. The course develops a strategic perspective of operations management rather than a quantitative mathematical modelling approach.
