Program Objectives

Why the GGSB MBA ?
-
We balance theory and applied learning, the academic and the operational. For you this means a practical hands-on approach, constantly focused on the real world.
-
The program develops hard analytical skills and soft interpersonal skills, to build competence across the full range of managerial activity.
-

These give an internationally–recognized guarantee of program quality. Furthermore in 2007 our part-time track was ranked 7th in the world in the Financial Times' “Top for international resident students” category.

Program overview
What are the key strengths of this program?
The faculty have both academic expertise and a wide range of experience in corporate activity. They are from a range of different countries and so they expose the MBA participants to an impressive variety of international management cultures.
The program content is composed of key concepts and carefully-selected business cases to show how concepts and knowledge are applied in the real world.
The management project - in phase two of the program - is the most effective way of applying the theory learnt in the course to live business issues. This extended problem-solving project often deals with live challenges faced in the participant's company.
The result is a management profile that meets the requirements of companies operating in today’s global environment, and a major contribution to the MBA graduate’s performance and career acceleration.

A word from the Program Director
" The strength of our accredited MBA is its diversity: our program is taught in several countries, to students from a rich variety of cultural origins, by faculty with teaching experience all around the world.
In a complex globalized world, international managers need both hard and soft skills: analytical abilities in IT, accounting and strategy... plus interpersonal communication fluency, leadership style and negotiation techniques.
The GGSB MBA program develops all these and more. The alumni network is spread across most of the world and is composed of graduates from more than 60 countries. This is a growing resource which you can benefit from throughout your professional life. I hope to meet you in our next intake, in whichever of the locations you are studying."
Phil Eyre, MBA Program Director
Testimonial
" In 2006, when I became Communications Specialist for TechnoMontréal, I was able to combine my technical web development skills with a broader view of projects gained through my MBA studies. This allowed me to successfully deliver important web projects for my organisation.
As my role in TechnoMontréal evolved to become a Project Manager I have had to apply more and more skills gained through my time at GGSB. An important facet of my daily job is to promote Montréal's ICT industry internationally.
I frequently meet delegations from around the world. The multicultural exposure that I gained while studying in Grenoble (with over 20 nationalitites in my intake) is a priceless asset for these meetings. As well, as the level of complexity of projects in which I'm involved has increased, I've had to bring together various knowledge, synthesize the information and act on it.
This very much resembles the educational process during my MBA at GGSB, where material learned in courses was often complementary. I found myself pulling knowledge gained from my marketing classes, for example, and applying it throughout the other classes."
Eric Kucharsky - MBA 2002
Project Manager, TechnoMontréal - The ICT industry Cluster of Greater Montréal

Employer Testimony
“At MGE UPS, our policy is to promote the professional development of our managers. An MBA is a great way to reward managers for their commitment and success, whilst at the same time investing in their potential for the future of the company.
The part-time MBA offered by GGSB is a particularly interesting training proposal as it allows the manager to remain in his or her function while following the course. The structure of the Grenoble MBA course also allows the manager to integrate the theory and practical frameworks at work right from the outset of the course – there is no need to wait until the end of the MBA to see a return on the training investment.
The experience of Denis Coupé is a great example of this. He has achieved greater team efficiency and has a much broader perspective on the group’s challenges and opportunities. Furthermore, he has brought a new strategic perspective to our evaluation and selection of suppliers.
MGE UPS works with suppliers from across the world to source materials for our factories in Asia, North America and Europe; the strategic evaluation of these suppliers is critical for the long-term success of these relationships. The international management focus and high-level business understanding gained by Denis during his MBA has provided invaluable in this area.
The whole experience has been an outright success. The end result for MGE UPS is a manager who is deeply enriched by his MBA experience and who has even greater potential for the success of our company.”
Bruno Mesnard - Vice President, Europe and International - MGE UPS
