1984
- ESC Grenoble founded. The first French business school to propose curricula based on technology management.
1987
- The CDS (Center for Strategic Development) is created.
- Developed in partnership with the INPG, the Formatech program is launched. This program teaches a double competency (scientific and managerial) and is aimed at technical employees with two options: industrial engineering and electrical engineering.
1988
- The first Mastère Spécialisé, in International Marketing of New Technologies, created.
1989
- ESC Grenoble admitted to the 'Chapitre des Écoles de Management de la Conférence des Grandes Écoles', only 5 years after its creation.
1990
1991
- Formagest and Formacadre programs are created. These continuing education programs allow employees to become managers and to perfect their management knowledge.
1992
- The school moves to its current location at Europole.
1993
- The Centre TIME, devoted to studying the impact of Technology and Innovation on Corporate Management, is created.
- The first French DBA is developed at Groupe ESC Grenoble, in partnership with the Henley Management College (UK).
- The school becomes a member of the European Doctoral Programs Association in Management and Business Administration (EDAMBA).
1994
- Groupe ESC Grenoble celebrates its 10th anniversary, ranked as the 10th business school in France.
- An Executive Master in Business Administration is offered, in partnership with the Henley Management College (UK).
- The French Master of Science in Management program is overhauled, aiming to speed students’ integration into professional life through work placements and internships.
1995
- The Master in International Business (MIB) is created; the management of technology becomes intercultural.
- Groupe ESC Grenoble leads TACIS, a European project that aims to develop management and economics education and research skills at the University of Kaliningrad.
1996
- The first doctoral thesis from the combined Groupe ESC Grenoble and Henley Management College DBA program is defended.
- The Diploma in International Business (DIB) is created, for MIB students who haven’t completed an internship.
- Mastère Spécialisé for Entrepreneurs is created.
- Groupe ESC Grenoble invests in virtual education by dedicating a web server where students, professors and international researchers can collaborate.
- 1000th exchange student.
- Due to the success of the Master of Science in Management work-placement program, this initiative is spread to all the other French degree programs.
