New Building - Taking Grenoble Ecole de Management to new heights
To respond to the school’s growing activities and student intakes, a new building wing to Grenoble Ecole de Management was officially unveiled a few days ago.

Located just a stone’s throw away from the train station and 5 minutes away from the city centre, this new 9 storey (40 meters) high building brings the Grenoble Ecole de Management’s surface to a total of 34000 square meters.

This new building houses a 479-seat lecture hall, new classrooms, offices, and several conference centres.

Thierry Grange, Dean, Grenoble Ecole de Management said: "The original structure neighbouring the new building, which opened in 1992, was built to welcome a number of students which has doubled today, notably with the significant increase in international students. With 3000 students, including 700 international, 850 employees (including 147 participating faculty) and 500 guest lecturers, a new extension was essential to keep up with the school’s rapid national and international developments.”

Pierre Spilliaert, technical security manager at Grenoble Ecole de Management explained: “The design of this new tower was a real challenge. While 5500 square meters are now available, the surface on the ground for the construction was just about 1000 square meters. The only solution was to dig the building in the ground as much as possible and to build it as high as possible."

The new tower can be distinguished by its futuristic yet functional architecture composed of a state of the art combination of glass, concrete and aluminium metal.

This new building is a turning point for Grenoble Ecole de Management, established in 1984.
What are the three major implications of these new grounds?

1) Grenoble Ecole de Management is a large-scale enterprise with the necessary means for its ambitions. This new building is a showcase of all activities of the school’s research poles, institutions and executive education training centres, which all focus around an unique expertise: Management of Technology and Innovation. Ranked within the top schools in France and European, crowned by three worldwide accreditation stamps (AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA), the school has the capacity to attract the best students and faculty and is a major actor on the international higher education scene.

2)… But also a school strongly rooted in local and international grounds.
Recognized by local communities and businesses for its contributions to the economic development of the region, the Grenoble school is reinforcing its ‘headquarters’ to better manage its 10 off-site campuses worldwide and to

continue to follow local businesses wherever they venture. With this new building, the school also strengthens its place within ‘GIANT’, a new campus of the Grenoble region, a project in which the school is a major player.

3)… and finally, an enterprise of service performance
With the mission of creating skills and knowledge for businesses, the school has the duty to offer all, from students to executive trainees, an optimal service: top avant-garde management training but also ideal working and living conditions in an environment always at the cutting-edge of technology. By continuously improving the well being and working conditions of its employees and faculty, Grenoble Ecole de Management guarantees a quality of service to appropriately respond to the needs and expectations of its clients.
