The New Manager Program aims at giving newly appointed managers the tools and methods to succeed in their mission and to guarantee a smooth transition to a management position. This 3-day intensive program focuses on the challenges that managers face at each stage of their fresh career. It is also the opportunity to network and share experiences with other managers. At the end of the program, participants will have acquired the main skills they need to successfully manage their teams and their activities. They will leave the program with a personal action plan to help them lay the foundations for a successful management career.
During this first day, you will reflect on the changes involved in your new status and mission. You will also work on self-confidence, presentation and communication skills. Through self assessment exercises, theater expression and role playing, you will gain a better understanding of yourself, your leadership style, your strengths and the areas in which you can improve. You will also learn how to use your interpersonal skills and how to avoid the common mistakes made by inexperienced managers. Day 2 (1st half day): Corporate Strategy and Change Management This half-day session will explore the role of the manager as a relay between the hierarchy and his/her team:
Day 2 and 3: The Manager's Toolbox During these sessions, you will review the main processes and the essential tools involved in managing a team:
The objective of these sessions is to give you practical tools and guidelines for the daily management of your team. Through exercises and cases, you will learn best practices and you will build your own toolbox. You will leave the program with concrete action plans and objectives that you can directly implement in your work environment. Each session includes discussions of management techniques, practical exercises and feedback from the trainer and sharing experiences with the other participants. After each session, participants will validate a customized action plan with the trainer, for an immediate impact in the workplace.

Admission is subject to the number of places available. The number of participants will be limited and candidates will be admitted on a first come, first served basis.
The first session is scheduled from October 21 to 23, 2009 The second, repeat session is scheduled from February 3 to 5, 2010 Program Fees The cost is 1 450 Euros and covers tuition, lunches and access to all GGSB facilities. This cost excludes VAT (19.6%). A non-refundable deposit of 250 Euros will be requested to guarantee a place. This will later be deducted from the program fees. Accomodation Accommodation at a 3-star business residence and lunches can be arranged for participants (480€ for 4 nights with breakfast, VAT included). Policy concerning the refund of tuition fees.
