The Institute for Sports and Management
|
 |
|
The mission of the Institute for Sports and Management is situated at the crossroads of the sports and business worlds. The Institute examines issues common to both worlds and recommends projects and areas for future research to bring them closer together.
Today’s business world is increasingly global and fast-paced. To stay ahead, individuals and organizations must break through silos and cross the traditional borders of their “worlds.” The commonalities between the sports and business worlds have the potential to provide valuable insight into the quest for excellence.
|
Run in the spirit of sportsmanship, the Institute serves as a cross-disciplinary forum for discussion, investigation, and the sharing of real-world knowledge around the issues affecting sports and business.
The Institute’s activities are organized around three pillars:
-
Providing elite athletes with business training and helping them find jobs in business
-
Applying management principles to the world of sports
-
Helping organizations leverage sports practices to increase their effectiveness
